This 1960 vintage “rancher” home needed upgrades and renovations to meet the changing lifestyle of its owners. The entire home was renovated inside and out, with the addition of a new first floor master bedroom suite in 2001 bringing the house up to 5,000 sq. ft.
This addition includes a master bedroom with fire place and a window wall overlooking the rear garden, a new master bathroom, and sky lit gallery linking the suite to the main house. The existing “family room” was converted to a conservatory also overlooking the gardens, sculpture and pool.
The existing facade and new construction were finished in classic wood shakes, wood batten trim and multi-paned windows and doors to evoke the New England roots of the owners. The entire 2+ acre site was re-landscaped to include a private outdoor room and lush vegetation on the public street access side.
